In March 2025, Saturn’s rings will become nearly invisible from Earth due to an event known as a ring plane crossing. This occurs roughly every 15 years, when the Earth passes through the plane of Saturn’s rings, aligning our line of sight almost edge-on with them. Since the rings are extremely thin—only about 30 feet thick on average—they appear to vanish when viewed edge-on, blending into the darkness of space.

The image of Saturn as a prison holding forces of darkness, with its rings serving as a cosmic barrier, speaks to an ancient intuition that the physical universe contains hidden metaphysical truths.
