While God Slept
Some of the greatest minds in history have asked profound questions: When did Satan fall? Who built the pyramids? Where are the minds of Atlantis? The answer to these mysteries may lie in a forgotten time—when God slept.
Genesis and the Fall of Creation
Genesis 1:1 states, “In the beginning God created the Heaven and the Earth.” For many years, I interpreted this as meaning that the earth was once perfect and complete, only to later become void. While I still believe this to be true, I have come to see that Moses, being a musician at heart, may have been structuring the text much like a song.
Genesis 1:2 follows: “And the earth ‘was’ without form and void, and darkness was on the face of the deep.” The word was is a mistranslation from the original Hebrew, where it should read became. This suggests that something catastrophic occurred—something was missing. I have spent 30 years exploring these ideas, but recently, I feel the Lord has shown me a fresh perspective.
Genesis as a Song and a Dual Timeline
Like King David, Moses was a musician. As a professional musician with over 30 years of experience and 15 personal albums, I understand song structure. Genesis 1:1 serves as the hook or pre-chorus that sets the theme. Genesis 1:2 marks the beginning of the verses, indicating a completed world that suddenly became desolate.
From Genesis 1:2 to Genesis 2, there is a dual timeline unfolding. One timeline reveals the physical recreation and restoration of the world, while the other unveils the spiritual battle occurring in the heavens. This parallel narrative explains why certain events in Genesis appear to overlap or repeat, as they reflect both the earthly and celestial realms.
Water’s Role in Creation and Memory
Water, which has memory, plays a crucial role in purification and cleansing. Moses, a writer and lyricist, would have understood the depth of writing dual meanings within his words. In Genesis 1:3-5, God creates light—but this is not merely the physical light of the sun and stars. It symbolizes the creation of Christ and Lucifer, setting the stage for the eventual division between good and evil.
The Sixth Day and the Unfinished Story
Genesis 1 closes with the sixth day, not the seventh. Why? On the sixth day, God and the angels—including Lucifer and Christ—created man.
Genesis 1:26-27 states: “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness… So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”
This marks the closing of a chapter. But before Genesis 2 begins, an untold story emerges.
Lucifer’s Dominion and the Rebellion
After creating mankind, God established a divine council to oversee them while He rested. This council was led by Lucifer and one-third of the angels.
Isaiah 14:12-15 describes Lucifer’s fall:
“How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! You said in your heart, ‘I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God…’ But you are brought down to the realm of the dead.”
During God’s rest—a period equating to a thousand years—Lucifer had time to spread corruption. He planted false religions, deceptions, and led many angels into rebellion.
The Parable of the Wheat and the Tares
Matthew 13:24-30 provides a key insight into Lucifer’s deception:
“The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way.”
This parable explains much about the fall of Lucifer and the corruption that entered the world.
Genesis 1:1 represents God sowing good seed, repeatedly stating, “And He saw that it was good.”
Genesis 1:2 reflects a shift, where the world became void—something had gone wrong.
Matthew 13:25 states, “While men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares.” Likewise, while God rested, Lucifer infiltrated creation.
For a thousand years, Satan had free reign, manipulating reality to his will. This may explain why the Fourth Commandment, “Honor the Sabbath and keep it holy,” holds such significance—it serves as a reminder of the time when God rested, and darkness took its opportunity to take root.
Conclusion: A Time of Awakening
The untold history of creation suggests that during God’s rest, Lucifer enacted his rebellion. This period saw the corruption of the world, the formation of false ideologies, and the deception of mankind. But just as the wheat and the tares must grow together until the harvest, so too must the truth and the lies exist side by side until the appointed time of revelation.
Now, the question remains: Are we still in that time of waiting, or has the harvest begun? The answers lie in scripture, waiting for those with ears to hear and eyes to see.
